Want to support Scientists are Humans?

Write us an article

If you choose to write us an article, these are the things you should know:

  • We are really laid back about format. Two paragraphs, a “listicle” (e.g. 10 things you didn’t know about students with disabilities), a longer form piece, all fine.
  • Your article will be read and commented on by one of the team, then edited by another.
  • You get final say about whether we publish, but we are keen to have everything go through 3 people (author and 2 others) as it makes for better writing.
  • We are all volunteers so sometimes this means it takes a while, but that’s ok and Indeed part of our mission – we all have other lives.
  • We can publish named, or anonymous, it’s entirely up to you. If you want to go anonymous you can send a direct message to on twitter, or send an email to [email protected]. These are both read by me (Hannah Dee) and the rest of the editorial process will be completely blind. You can of course email from a throwaway account if you want to be entirely anonymous

Help us with editing

Because most articles go through two people, it’d be great to have a wider pool of editors and proof readers. What we’re looking for are…

  • Kind and thoughtful readers
  • Who are also really picky about spelling and grammar
